Catholic Church ignored the sexual abuse of thousands of children by priests in Ireland for 60 years, says official report

[Daily mail article on a new report into decades of abuse in Catholic institutions in Ireland ((much of it I feel has been organized/encouraged by the powers that be for programming purposes; the more severely programmed ones would obviously have never had the opportunity of making their voices heard)); traumatized by nuns and priests physically and sexually ((but the resulting mental trauma of this being the most important to MK/psychological manipulation)), typical official report ((victims have been calling it a 'whitewash', no abusers will be charged or anything)). I was recently very moved by the below documentary 'Deliver Us From Evil' on a similar theme (note the child's split mind motif/symbolism [the child's half face inside the crucifix] on the poster below sitting on the priest's lap), using one example (the pedophile priest they focus on was himself abused and seems to have suffered from a dissociative disorder) and how the Catholic church has been actively covering it up ((there was no need to cover up child abuse/pedophilia a hundred years ago or so and before [it's only in recent times that attitudes have changed and they can no longer do it with impunity] as it was not understood/recognized at all for the very real evil that it is [I view this as another major reason why there's so much abuse in the church also])) and all that important stuff that needs to be known. Things like the Catholic church are just vehicles (and were set up I think in part for this purpose) for this abuse/programming (they created the sexual repression in their clergy through abstinence, which they obviously must have had some idea that it would lead to these extremes like pedophilia ["alter-boys" (altar/alter) are aptly named]. It's difficult for people to accept that they've always wanted the abuse to be going on *((the fact that the #1 protector of Catholic pedophiles in the world, Pope Ratzinger [see that link with 'Sex Crimes and the Vatican', a similar documentary + more on the rat's role in covering up child abuse; his reward for his crime was to be made Pope] was given immunity from prosecution by President George Bush Jnr specifically says a lot [if you are aware of the Bush family's role in MK]))* and it always has been going on [many of these pedophile priests are themselves intergenerational abuse victims of their own Catholic families].)] [Edit: I'll change the article when Daily Mail alters there's so this may change a few times as they sort it, this Sky News one is pretty concise 'Thousands abused in Catholic Child Care' (which is itself a big underestimation [most abuse victims don't report it + various other reasons]; p.s. I am a "confirmed" Catholic btw, having been put through the tedious process whilst not believing in any of it)]

  • Abuse was 'endemic' in boy's institutions
  • Safety of children in general was not a consideration
  • 216 church and state institutions involved
  • More than 800 individuals identified as abusers
  • No abusers will be prosecuted
  • Children 'corrupted' by sexual activity were punished

More than 800 sex offenders repeatedly abused thousands of children in Irish institutions run by the Catholic Church and the country's government, a damning report revealed today.

The Child Abuse Commission detailed a catalogue of disturbing and chronic sexual, physical and emotional abuse inflicted on thousands of disadvantaged, neglected and abandoned children by both religious and lay staff since the 1930s.

Angry exchanges took place between Commission staff and victims of abuse today when they were barred from the launch of the report in a central Dublin hotel.

Artane Industrial School in Dublin. The report states that sexual abuse was a 'chronic' problem there, while a victim stated that former pupils 'never forgot' the horrors they suffered at Artane

The report identified more than 800 individuals who were physically and sexually abusing witnesses while they were children.

No abusers will be prosecuted as a result of the inquiry.

The dangers to the children caused by bringing them into contact with sexual predators were not taken into account, the inquiry found.

But the bad publicity that would result if the scandals broke was a consideration in the cover-up.

The physical abuse of boys in Daingean was extreme. Floggings were ritualised beatings... Children who passed through Daingean were brutalised by the experience.

'I'm very angry, very bitter, and feel cheated and deceived ... It has devastated me and it will devastate most victims because there is no criminal proceedings and no accountability whatsoever'

The report found: 'The risk (to children), however, was seen by the congregations in terms of the potential scandal and bad publicity should the abuse be disclosed.'

Judge Sean Ryan, who chaired the Commission, concluded that when confronted with evidence of sex abuse, religious authorities responded by transferring the sex offenders to another location, where in many instances they were free to abuse again.

Justice Sean Ryan launches the report at the Conrad Hotel in Dublin today - but refuses to take questions from journalists

'There was evidence that such men took up teaching positions sometimes within days of receiving dispensations because of serious allegations or admissions of sexual abuse,' the report said.

'The safety of children in general was not a consideration.'

Sexual abuse was endemic in boys' schools while in girls' schools, children were subjected to predatory abuse by male employees, visitors and while on outside placements.

In addition to being sex assaults and being hit and beaten, witnesses described other forms of abuse such as being flogged, kicked and otherwise physically assaulted, scalded, burned and held under water.

Abuse was rarely reported to the State authorities but on the rare occasion the Department of Education was informed, it colluded with the religious orders in the culture of silence.

The Department generally dismissed or ignored sexual abuse complaints and never brought them to the attention of the Garda.

'At best, the abusers were moved but nothing was done about the harm done to the child. At worst, the child was blamed and seen as corrupted by the sexual activity, and was punished severely,' the report stated.

John Kelly, from the group Survivors of Child Abuse, protests at not being allowed into the hotel for the launch today

Children were so badly neglected, survivors spoke of scavenging for food from waste bins and animal feed.

Unsupervised bullying in boys' schools often left smaller, weaker children without food.

Accommodation was cold, spartan and bleak while children were often left in soiled, wet work clothes after being forced to toil for long hours outdoors in farms, the report found.

Victim John Walsh, of leading campaign group Irish Survivors of Child Abuse (Soca), called the report a hatchet job that left open wounds gaping.

'The little comfort we have is the knowledge that it vindicated the victims who were raped and sexually abused,' said Mr Walsh.

He progressed through six schools where he physically terrorised and sexually abused children... Parents attempted to challenge his behaviour but he was persistently protected.

'There are a lot of people that have committed suicide, there are a lot of people that have ended up in hospitals and they have been forgotten about... but (as pupils) you never forgot'

'I'm very angry, very bitter, and feel cheated and deceived.

'I would have never opened my wounds if I'd known this was going to be the end result.

'It has devastated me and will devastate most victims because there is no criminal proceedings and no accountability whatsoever.'

Responding to the report, the Most Rev Vincent Nichols, the new leader of Catholics in England and Wales, told ITV News: 'It's very distressing and very disturbing and my heart goes out today first of all to those people who will find that their stories are now told in public...

'Secondly, I think of those in religious orders and some of the clergy in Dublin who have to face these facts from their past which instinctively and quite naturally they'd rather not look at.

The Most Rev Vincent Nichols says those who perpetrated the abuse should be held to account

'That takes courage, and also we shouldn't forget that this account today will also overshadow all of the good that they also did.'

Asked whether those who perpetrated violence and abuse should be held to account, he said: 'Yes they should, no matter how long ago it happened.

'In this country now we have a very steady and reliable system of co-operation with police and social services who actually now hold us in good regard.

'They know that we are reliable and trustworthy partners. Those that abused the trust that was placed in them should be brought to public account.'

Asked whether legal and police process should take place, he said: 'Yes, absolutely. If the offences are such that demand that.'

Asked why abuse seemed more prevalent in the Catholic Church than other faiths, he said: 'Every time there is a single incident of abuse in the Catholic Church it is a scandal.

'And I'm glad it's a scandal. I would be very worried if it wasn't a scandal... I hope these things don't happen again but I hope they're never a matter of indifference.'

Tom Sweeney, who spent five years at industrial schools including two years at one where the report said sexual abuse was a 'chronic problem', said Dublin's Artane Industrial School continued to haunt its former residents.

'Anybody that came into Artane did not come out a happy person and unfortunately there are a lot of people that have committed suicide, there are a lot of people that have ended up in hospitals and they have been forgotten about.

'You didn't forget about Artane and you never forget about it.'

Victims hope the massive report - five volumes totalling 2,500 pages - will finally reveal the full extent of the abuse inflicted on them by Roman Catholic nuns and priests.

Roughly 1,090 men and women who were abused in 216 schools and institutions all over the country gave evidence over the nine-year investigation

Several hundred institutions run by religious orders, including industrial schools, institutions for children with disabilities and ordinary day schools, have been examined.

The report proposed 21 ways the government could recognise past wrongs, including building a permanent memorial, providing counselling and education to victims, and improving Ireland's current child protection services.

An interim report published in 2003 gave the testimonies of more than 700 men and women who recalled being beaten on every part of their body with objects including leather straps, sticks, farm implements, and even hurling sticks.

Others were sexually abused and some described being gang raped.

Maeve Lewis, of support group One in Four, said victims want a well-documented acknowledgement of the abuse.

'Over 35,000 children from the 1940s onwards were condemned to live under a regime of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect,' she said.

'While these institutions no longer exist, people who are now aged from 30 to 80 years live day by day with the impact their experiences had on their lives.'

Ms Lewis added: 'If it is a thorough acknowledgement and documents rigorously what people experienced, then it may bring some closure.'

A government compensation scheme has been set up for victims of institutionalised child abuse - at an expected cost of £725million.

The names of alleged perpetrators will not be published - except for those already convicted - after several religious orders began legal action against the Commission.

But the inquiry is expected to produce specific findings against a number of institutions.

Among the many orders under investigation were the Sisters of Mercy and Christian Brothers, which ran the largest number of children's institutions.

Some of the allegations in the report cover events more than 60 years ago and many of the alleged perpetrators are dead or infirm.

The Commission was set up in 2000 by former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern after a TV exposé.

Its first presiding judge, Ms Justice Mary Laffoy, quit in 2003 amid accusations that the Republic's Department of Education - responsible for inspecting and regulating most of the institutions - was not co-operating with her requests for documents.

A second report, examining how the Catholic Church handled sex abuse complaints, will be published by the Commission in July.

Key steps in struggle to confront child abuse in the Catholic Church

June 1994
Catholic priest Brendan Smyth pleads guilty to 17 counts of indecently assaulting five girls and two boys in Belfast. His order, the Norbertines, spent decades shuttling him among Irish and American parishes and harbored Smyth from British arrest.

November 1994
Taoiseach Albert Reynolds resigns, and his government collapses, amid claims that his attorney general colluded with church authorities to delay the British extradition demand for Smyth. It shatters the taboo against pursuing criminal charges against priests.

July 1995
Former altar boy Andrew Madden becomes first person to speak publicly about abuse by a priest. Madden says the Church paid him €35,000 to keep quiet about three years of assaults by Fr Ivan Payne. Archbishop Desmond Connell denies the deal until Madden provides documentary proof of church payoff. Case spurs hundreds to pursue civil lawsuits against church authorities.

January 1996
Panel of Irish Catholic leaders instruct bishops to tell senior police officers ‘without delay’ about all suspected sex-abuse cases. Some bishops continue to suppress such information over the coming decade.

February 1996
Dear Daughter, a documentary shown on RTÉ details abuse suffered by Christine Buckley and others at St Vincent's Industrial School, Goldenbridge, Inchicore, Dublin.

July 1997
After serving prison term in Northern Ireland, Smyth is extradited south and pleads guilty to 74 counts of sexually abusing 20 boys and girls between 1958 and 1993. He dies of a heart attack one month into 12 year sentence.

January 1998
Payne is convicted in Dublin on 14 counts of sexually abusing eight boys aged 11 to 14. He serves only four years in prison.

March 1999
Fr Sean Fortune commits suicide in prison while awaiting trial on 66 criminal charges of molesting and raping 29 boys in the southeast Ferns diocese. One Fortune victim, former altar boy Colm O'Gorman, launches victims support group One in Four. It lobbies government for investigations into abuse cases, particularly in Ferns.

April 1999
Groundbreaking documentary series ‘States of Fear’ by RTÉ exposes abuse of children in church-run workhouses, reformatories and orphanages since the 1940s.

May 1999
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern issues ‘long overdue apology’ to all those abused in church-run institutions and vows to establish a financial compensation board and a fact-finding commission into extent of abuse. Ms Justice Mary Laffoy is appointed to head the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse.

May 2000
Government gives investigatory powers to Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse to measure causes and extent of unchecked child abuse in institutions from 1937 onward.

July 2001
The deadline for complaints of abuse to be made to the Commission. Some 3,149 people ask to testify.

April 2002
Ferns Bishop Brendan Comiskey becomes first, and only, church figure to resign because of failures to stop abuse. He admits he did too little to stop pedophile priests.

December 2002
Government establishes board to pay compensation to people who suffered sexual, physical or mental abuse in church-run institutions. Payouts require claimants to give up their right to sue church and state authorities. Taxpayers, not the church, cover bulk of cost.

September 2003
High Court Judge Mary Laffoy resigns complaining that the Department of Education, which holds most records on church-run institutions, is obstructing her investigation into child abuse. Her successor, Justice Sean Ryan, says probe must severely limit the number of abuse cases it considers or it will never finish.

April 2004
A Vatican modernizer and diplomat, Diarmuid Martin, replaces Connell as Dublin archbishop. Pledges full cooperation with state and police in exposing past cover-ups of abuse and protecting children in future.

June 2004
Judge Ryan announces the Commission will not name abusers unless they have been convicted. The Christian Brothers religious order drops legal actions against the Commission.

July 2004
The Christian Brothers testify at a public hearing that files only recently discovered in its Rome-based archive show evidence of 30 canonical trials of brothers based on proven incidents of child sexual abuse against boys in their care from the 1930s onwards.

October 2005
Investigation led by retired Supreme Court justice finds that church, police and state authorities did too little to stop sexual abuse of hundreds of children by 21 priests in Ferns. Report says Ferns bishops sheltered and promoted priests known to have raped altar boys and molested schoolgirls on an altar.

December 2005
Residential Institutions Redress Board says more than 14,000 people who claim to have suffered childhood abuse in church-run institutions have filed claims for state payouts.

December 2008
Board says it has paid nearly 12,000 victims average of €64,230 each, about 2,000 claims remain. Cost including lawyers' fees expected to reach €1.1bn.

May 20, 2009
Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse unveils 2,575-page report into thousands of child abuse cases in institutions. Two more reports into the church's protection of sex-predator priests in the Dublin archdiocese and the southwest diocese of Cloyne may be published later this year.

Triloquists

I had originally planned on covering a few movies I've seen recently in this post, but only got through one before being sidetracked so expect another quick movie post soon after; first one 'Triloquist' was so bad it's amazing how they get away with it... (continued after the TV/Christian rant jump [the title relates because Christians are dummies; they think and do exactly what they're programmed to, the bible as their main programming script with lots of added emotional triggers not in the bible like the 'Devil'/'Hell' and stuff to scare the shit out of you, into submission]), I caught it (not properly watching) on Zone (oz; being 'in the zone' = like a trance [i.e. naturally occurring mild altered state of consciousness in sport], tv programming) Horror, with it's subliminal all seeing eye logos. Zone Horror and Thriller often show very average MK symbolic movies/shows. "The Horror Channel [former name of Zone Horror] was created by Tony Hazell, who had previously worked for The God Channel." The creator of the Horror Channel came straight from the God Channel, surely that tells you a lot about the people working at the God Channel?

Now the God Channel, wow; just watch that for five minutes, Christians are truly amazing creatures! It literally steals their money and constantly talks about how it's being put towards "programming" (the word is used constantly), you can hear in their voice that they know they're not referring to simply producing more television programmes! Don't forget to Donate... OH PRAISE JESUS, so we can continue our excellent programming! PRAISE JESUS give us all your money, OH LORD WE PRAISE YOU! your money and mind now! PRAISE BE TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR! thankyou now you have nothing and p.s. accept Lucifer as your personal savior. OH JESUS WE LOVE YOU! Organized religion has been stealing your mind and money since it's inception, Christians are very entertaining/humorous to watch however so it's not all bad.

Wears my dog collar? PRAISE DOG, RUFF RUFF! Seriously though, Christians deserve it (I'm a confirmed Catholic btw, which probably has a lot to do with my anti-Christian sentiment!). "We're going to be showing a video of the End Times Programming now...", the 'MW' Missions Week logo is all part of said programming. God TV's slogan is: "The Revolution Has Begun!", the creators of it are Rory and Wendy (Peter Pan programming) Alec (Alice); Wendy writes a series of biblical books (extra programming for God TV viewers) called the 'Chronicles of Brothers', the first being the 'Fall of Lucifer', here's one review titled 'truth revealed' I found pretty funny: "A must if you want the truth about life. The battle for the mind is in full swing.Satan hates us because god loves us.Just finished book 2 "The fist judgement" [left in the humorous typo, like a Christian sexual repression Freudian slip or something! ;p].Cant wait for book 3.<><".

But back to Zone, which is owned/controlled by Chello Zone, owned by Liberty Global, which is in turn owned by John C. Malone who was educated at Yale University (potentially skull and bones; he is a member of Phi Beta Kappa fraternity which: "In 1831, the Harvard chapter publicly disclosed the fraternity's secrets during a period of strong anti-Masonic sentiment." But his Yale chapter did not, probably because they had something to hide). He funded the 'Daniel L. Malone Engineering Center' which opened in 2005, named after his father who was a General Electric engineer. He recently gave a $530 million loan to save Sirius (dog star; important to 'them' that it be saved [also where would Howard Stern objectify Penthouse Pets and such?!]) Radio, his current net worth is $1.5 billion. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Bank of New York, and many others as he's part of that 'club'. Anyway, just wanted to give you an idea of the controllers of TV programming.

But anyway, after being sidetracked with that back to the movie; it's worse than awful but it has it does have moments of insane incestuous depravity (more in another quick movie post shortly) at least make it not completely boring (standard MK themes, the kids' mother kills herself in front of them, they get taken in by child abusing uncle, then orphaned):
In 1993, in Hollywood, California, the addicted in heroin mother of two children is a decadent ventriloquist that can not find work anymore. When she overdoses and dies, the siblings Norbert and Angelina are sent to a foster house with their dummy. Later they are sent to their uncle's house; the man sexually abuses Angelina and the dummy kills him. Years later, Norbert (who can't speak) and his seventeen year-old alcoholic sister Angelina [Angel, Jolie is another victim] are living on the streets; when the dummy slaughters a boy, Norbert is accused and arrested by the police and sent to an asylum with his dummy. Later Angelina decides to release her brother and finds a woman in order to give an offspring to her family. She breaks into the institution, kills the male nurse and Norbert escapes. When they meet Robin on the road, Angelina decides that the teenager will be the mother of her nephew and they abduct the girl.

... that description isn't the best, here is another (from wiki) illustrating the themes of incest/multi-generational MK...

Two teenage orphans and their living killer dummy make a path of death and blood on their way to Las Vegas to make it big. All the while, the sister Angelina proves to be much more harm than the dummy. The three of them kidnap a girl named Robin [bird] so that the brother Norbert can rape her and continue the family bloodline. Norbert fails to do this, but instead takes part in incest with Angelina. The movie ends with Robin escaping and Angelina killing Norbert. After this, Angelina goes into a depressed state until realizing that she is pregnant with Norbert's child. She has the baby in a motel room, where the final moments reveal that Angelina had given birth to Dummy's child.

Angelina is played by Paydin LoPachin (note her one eye/half face reflection in the knife at the top poster of this post; and in the other "One's a doll. The other's no dummy." suggesting she is a doll), who "grew up performing in her hometown until she was 11 years old. At that point Paydin signed a contract with Product, a modeling agency [models are products/objects] in New York. She modeled for Limited Too and Abercrombie Kids and several other companies. Paydin then transitioned to commercials for companies such as Kohls and JC Penney, and eventually signed with Osbrink Talent Agency in Los Angeles."..."Paydin composes piano music—her composition "Caught in a Dream" won first place in a state competition and third place in a national competition."

She was also in a movie tied to Sharon Tate's murder/Charles Manson called, 'House at the End of the Drive': "shot just a stones throw away from the infamous Sharon Tate Murders of August 8th 1969. The house where the film was shot is haunted." [see linked post for lots more on Sharon Tate]

Previous ventriloquist movies I've posted on have included Dead Silence and Saw (to a lesser extent); please see Elluminati for info on the below MK'd killer (images from there), he killed 5 people on Valentines day last year. I have posted on ventriloquists I suspect as being involved in MK like Paul Winchell.

This one called 'Magic' (have to understand that magic/illusion/suggestion is a huge part of MK) with Anthony Hopkins (cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal etc) as the MPD suffering (blatant MK, similar psychological themes to Triloquist) Ventriloquist:
"Magic tells the story of Charles "Corky" Withers (Hopkins), a man that has just failed his first attempt at professional magic. His mentor says that he needs to have a better show business personality. A year later Corky comes back as a ventriloquist with a foul-mouthed dummy named Fats. His agent Ben Greene (Burgess Meredith) is on the verge of signing Corky on for his own television show, but Corky bails out for the Catskills, claiming to be afraid of success. In truth he doesn't want to take the required psychological testing because doctors might find out that he suffers from multiple personality disorder, and that he hears Fats talking to him."
Standard MK themes in the below trailers, also note Anthony Hopkins jumper has a line of black/white checker pattern as his alter tells him to do something he shouldn't (second trailer is longer showing more MK symbolism, mirror [I assume it is shattered/fractured at some point in the film] etc). I'm sure if you watched the whole film through there would be lots worth noting, link to part 1.

"The trailer for this film was pulled from TV due to calls from parents who claimed that it gave their children nightmares. The trailer in question is less than 30 seconds in length. It features Fats reciting the tagline, after which his eyeballs roll into the back of his head. This is followed by a cast reading, then Fats opens his eyes and gazes to his left." That trailer is below, we can surmise that taglines like these are often designed to be used as triggers.

This would be a good time to post a few of Anthony Hopkins split mind (half face in darkness/missing = their face split in half, not a 'whole person', duality + one eye illuminism; obviously other MK symbolism in the posters too [the Instinct one MPD symbolism]) movie posters, starting with his latest movie and perhaps most blatant, which he wrote the screenplay for and directed Slipstream. Remember he played a ventriloquist with MPD/DID, which is a disorder where the mind is split into parts that are dissociated.

"Aging screenwriter Felix Bonhoeffer has lived his life in two states of existence: in reality and his own interior world. While working on a murder mystery script, and unaware that his brain is on the verge of implosion, Felix is baffled when his characters start to appear in his life, and vice versa."

Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Anthony Hopkins are both given the treatment [note Hopkins is green and Kyle is purple; the kind of thing I just posted on] in this one. He was also in Lynch's Elephant Man, with themes of dehumanization.

Playing presidential puppet/mythological hate-figure Nixon.

This is a nice little poster for 'Shortcut to Happiness', note the red shoes/devil's tail. Also below is his 'Mask of Zorro' poster.

Fracture features a lot of fractured mind symbolism, as you'd expect. The actual definition of 'fracture' is very much MK related (stating the obvious I know):"A fracture is the (local) separation of an object or material into two, or more, pieces under the action of stress." Which you can obviously relate to psychological fracturing (splitting/compartmentalization/shattering/fragmenting/etc [all are related to dissociation]) of the mind which occurs into parts under the action of stress/trauma. Remember he played a ventriloquist with MPD/DID, which is a disorder where the mind is split into dissociated parts (through the process of extreme dissociation as a result of trauma).

Instinct contains MK themes of abuse in mental asylums; hence the symbolic posters (also note in the below MPD poster, one eye/half face covered by hair + the eye colours [one is blue, the other you can see is red it looks like; symbolizing opposite/polarizing personalities, like a calm peaceful one and an angry violent one]).

Freejack looks very painful to watch; note the grid + split mind symbolism [Emilio Estevez is from the Sheen Jesuit family].

And of course (I'm not that familiar with his films so I've probably missed a lot of relevant roles) his role as Hannibal Lecter is a standard serial killer (so programmed, traumatized as a kid and such [see Hannibal Rising; in his traumatized/dissociative/suggestible state he witnesses murder and cannibalism: monkey see, monkey do]), Red Dragon's below tagline is very true.

I posted on the silence of the lambs MK posters in this Salvador Dali post. All of the various posters (above one, split mind, note the colours similar theme to Instinct poster) featured Salvador Dali's skull made out of nude women photographs as the head of a moth (closely related to the butterfly, kind of insect [along with spiders/snakes/etc] that could be used in trauma [see Christina Aguilera's video 'Stronger' in this post for more; which is amazingly blatant MK, even featuring the above Fracture poster style Christina's one eye through a hole in fractured glass at the end]).

I had originally planned on putting a couple more MK/incest/abuse movies (I've found it a little strange how really blatant they are all getting) I'd seen recently up in this post but no time (the ventriloquist/MPD 'Magic' film was an unexpected find leading me down this Hopkins alley; probably could have done without the whole God TV), have to do that in a separate post quickly tomorrow (need to start the second Disney part too).
