According to research, 38,000 Americans are diagnosed with this type of ailment each year and normally they have 6 to 12 months to live after being diagnosed. Fact is that Patrick Swayze has outlived most normal Americans who are afflicted with pancreatic cancer because he has had it for more than a year already. The chemotherapy had caused him to look older and lose hair as he is just 56 years old. Despite his affliction, Patrick Swayze used his condition to publicly appeal to the US government to issue additional federal funding for pancreatic cancer. US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg also has been diagnosed with the disease and Patrick Swayze is very vocal about his intention to help his fellow Americans for them to successfully survive pancreatic cancer.
